Implementation of Escape Room: “The Last Sustainable City”

As part of the Erasmus+ ETER project activities, an eco-learning session was organised at SOEPTU “Kuzman Josifoski – Pitu”, an economic secondary school in North Macedonia and partner of the project.

Around 50 students aged 15-16 took part in the activity, working with the educational game “The Last Sustainable City”. The game uses an escape-room style approach, combining narrative, challenges and teamwork to help students explore sustainability in a more active and engaging way.

Through the activity, students faced ecological problems, incomplete information, misleading claims and everyday dilemmas. Instead of learning sustainability as a list of abstract rules, they had to discuss, make decisions and solve problems together.

The activity supported interdisciplinary learning and encouraged students to look at sustainability as an environmental, civic, behavioural, media literacy and systems-thinking issue.
