Context
The EuroQuest project addresses the growing need for innovative and engaging methods to teach sustainability in secondary schools. Through the development of Educational Tabletop Escape Rooms, the project brings together storytelling, game design and collaborative problem-solving to help students explore environmental, economic and social sustainability in a hands-on and motivating way.
Objectives & Methodology
The project aims at empowering school teachers with an innovative GBL methodology based on ETERs. During the project, innovative teaching materials related to the ETER methodology will be developed and tested, including a MOOC on ETERs in school education, a handbook, and five ETERs. The project activities will also include training of at least 48 teachers, involve more than 1,600 students, and assess the effectiveness of ETERs in improving sustainability learning. The EuroQuest project is structured around three interconnected phases.
In the first year, the project partners share expertise and collaboratively design the training materials, the online course, the handbook, and the five ETERs.
In the second year, the materials are implemented in partner schools, where teachers are trained and students participate in sustainability-based ETER activities.
Finally in the third year, a comparative research study evaluates the learning impact of ETERs, followed by extensive dissemination through conferences, fairs, and events in all partner country countries.
